Beloved husband of Rosina Laserra for almost sixty-five years (on May 14, 2025). Beloved father of Antonio (Pierina) and adored nonno to Tony and Rosa. Beloved son of Antonio Montesano (deceased) and Carmela Tino (deceased).
Beloved brother of Antonio (deceased) and sister-in-law Giuseppina (deceased); Bruno (deceased) and sister-in-law Lise; Rocco (deceased) and sister-in-law Maria; Vincenzo (deceased) and sister-in-law Judy. Beloved brother to Maria (Marco Ricci) and Teresa (Robert Gitto). Uncle and great-uncle to many nephews and nieces.
He was a very loyal and trustworthy worker, holding many jobs (construction, demolition) in order to help the family. His last years were spent at Via Rail as a mechanic. He had a passion for learning, and he soon mastered English and French. He loved to read different newspapers to keep up with current events, and he enjoyed reading history books.
Giuseppe was born in Capistrano, a small village in Calabria. He arrived in Montreal on July 1, 1952, during Canada Day celebrations, and he believed that they were celebrating OUR ARRIVAL in Canada.
Talk about a welcome!
During his time in Canada, he and his family took over 25 trips to Italy.
He will be missed. Our prayers and thoughts are with him.
