1913-2014
Passed away peacefully in Gananoque on June 8 at the age of 100. Predeceased by his beloved wife Frida Omann. Hans leaves behind his children Hans (Claude) from Candiac and Ingrid (Peter Schmidt) from Gananoque. He will be missed by his grandchildren Anne-Marie Omann (TMR), Sonja Schmidt (Gananoque), Bruno Omann (Beaconsfield) Franz Omann (Candiac), Heidelies Schmidt (Vancouver) and his great-grandchildren Jessica, Christopher, Alexandre, Emmanuel, Anne-Sophie, Beatrice, Zachary, Matthiew and Angeliki. Born in Austria Hans came to Canada in 1954 where he started several German organizations; German Social & Welfare organizations and Der Ring & Hans & Frida Omann Hillsfond.
Memorial service will take place at Collins Clarke on Saturday June 21st, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with an hour visitation prior to the service. In lieu of flowers donation to German Educational Foundation the Hilfsfond would be appreciated.
