We sadly announce the sudden passing of our beloved Heather Sandford, who left us unexpectedly on July 1, 2024, at 66. Born on October 4, 1957, and throughout her life, she brought immense joy and love to those around her.
Heather Sanford embraces life with a passion that extended to every facet of her being. He career as a nurse at the Julius Richardson Hospital spanned over 25 years, a testament to her unwavering dedication, compassion, and expertise in caring for others. Heather took immense pride in her profession, finding fulfillment in providing comfort and healing to those in need. Her colleagues and patients cherished her warm presence and genuine concern for their well-being.
Heather was a woman of many passions and talents. She found pure wonder in the world's beauty, particularly the ocean, which captivated her from the moment she saw it during her honeymoon in Florida with her beloved husband, Carlos. Together, they embarked on adventures to places like the Bahamas, Cuba, and Columbia, creating cherished memories they held dear.
Her love for music was evident in her soulful singing and enthusiastic dancing. Heather could effortlessly recall the lyrics to any song, with a particular fondness for country music and artists like Van Morrison, George Jones, and Joe Cocker. Her vibrant spirit and infectious laughter lit up every room she entered.
Heather was also known for her compassion for animals, especially her beloved cats. Since 1983, when she welcomed a white cat named Linda into her life, Heather has dedicated herself to ensuring the well-being of her feline companions.
In 1994, Heather married the love of her life, Carlos Figueira, and they shared 30 years of joy, laughter, and unwavering companionship. Her passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of her loving husband, Carlos Figueira, devoted son, Todd, close friend Gerald Chartrand, uncle Bruce Klare, his companion Sharon, mother-in-law Maria-Jose Figueira, sisters-in-law Elda Figueira and Manuela Figueira, and a wide circle of relatives and friends.
Heather Sandford will be dearly missed and forever remembered for her kindness, warmth, and the love she shared with all who knew her.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2024, between 2 and 7 p.m. at Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Home at 5610 Rue Sherbrooke Ouest Montréal, QC H4A1W5. Please come.

The people we love never really leave us. Even though we can't see or hear them, they're always close by, and we still love and miss them very much. Their presence is with us in our hearts and memories. In quiet moments, we feel their guidance and love. Their words stay with us, giving us strength when we need it.
Thinking of their favorite places, songs, and memorable moments brings back happy memories of the joy they brought into our lives. We sincerely feel their absence, but their spirit inspires and support us. Even though, we can't see or touch them, their love still shapes who we are and how we live.
