It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Iola Maria Bucchianico (Ambrosio), on February 5, 2026, at the age of 80, surrounded by her family. She was the devoted wife of Modesto Ambrosio and the cherished daughter of the late Nicoletta Stivaletti and the late Giovanni Bucchianico.
Iola was born in Guglionesi, Italy. From a young age, she recognized and embraced her love for beauty in everything. She focused her talents to become a gifted seamstress. Her refined sense of elegance and personal style was evident in all she created and wore.
She immigrated to Montreal in 1959, where she built a new chapter of her life. In 1964, she met her devoted husband, beginning a devoted partnership and creating a loving family.
Iola loved music and dancing, and she came alive when surrounded by family and friends. A natural social spirit, she cherished connection and laughter. Fiercely loyal to her family, she was always ready to support anyone she loved. She lived each day fully, believing that if you are well today, tomorrow would take care of itself. Left to mourn is her beloved husband Modesto and children, Luciano and Patrizia. She is predeceased by her brother Antonio and brother Luigi. She will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
