Irene Trudeau (nee Simpson)

1920-2015

À Pointe-Claire, le 29 mai 2015, est décédée paisiblement, Irene Simpson, épouse de feu Maurice Trudeau. Elle laisse dans le deuil ses filles Denise (feu Pierre Labbé), Carolyn, Lorraine (Pierre Delorme), ses petits-enfants Philippe et Alexandre (Mélissa Décarie) ainsi que ses trois arrière-petits-enfants. Citoyenne américaine, elle était très fière d'avoir joint les rangs, en 1942, de la " United States Coast Guard Women's Reserve " et d'avoir alors été une " SPAR "; elle en parlait avec beaucoup de fierté.

Durant la guerre, elle rencontre Maurice, son amoureux canadien, qui fait partie de la RCAF. Suite à une correspondance soutenue, ils se marient à Victoria, C.-B., et s'installent ensuite à Montréal.

La famille tient à remercier tout spécialement l'équipe dévouée du 3e étage du CHSLD Bayview à Pointe-Claire, pour les soins exceptionnels prodigués à notre mère.

Irene Simpson passed away peacefully on May 29, 2015 at the Bayview Center in Pointe-Claire. Predeceased by her beloved husband Maurice Trudeau and her sister Marjorie, she will be sadly missed by her daughters Denise (feu Pierre Labbé), Carolyn and Lorraine (Pierre Delorme), her grandsons Philippe and Alexandre (Mélissa Décarie), her three great grandchildren and her long-time and loyal friend Gerry Dranfield.

As an American citizen she was very proud of having joined, in 1942, the United States Coast Guard Women's Reserve, and to have then been a "SPAR". She spoke of this with great pride. During the war she will meet her future husband Maurice, a Canadian, member of the RCAF. After the war and following a courtship of sustained correspondence they will marry in Victoria B.C., and will later settle in Montréal.

Family sincerely wishes to thank the dedicated staff of the third floor at the Bayview Center in Pointe-Claire for the constant kindness and exceptional care extended to our wonderful mother.
