1927 - 2011
Text: Died at home on October 13th after a lengthy illness. His great and abiding love for his family, and his loyalty to his church, his school, and his university, compelled him to contribute to each all that he was able. Predeceased by his devoted daughter, Alison, he leaves a loving family, his wife of fifty-two years, Ann, and his two sons, Stuart (Trudy), and Stephen (Mary). His eight grandchildren, Kirstin, Jesika, Ian, Emma, Katelin, Madison, Ava, and Mia have lost their beloved “Grad”. John's years at Dominion Douglas Church (Mountainside United) began as a youngster, continuing in his teens when he attended the famous Friday night movies. For some years he taught Sunday School and shared many roles in the maintenance of the church. A long time student at Lower Canada College, he gained his Senior Matric there. Armed with a Mechanical Engineering degree from McGill (1950), a Diploma in Business Administration five years later, and ten years experience, he created his own company in 1961. For the last forty years of his life his tremendous energy was also absorbed by activities associated with our happy house in Vermont.
A memorial service will be held at Mountainside United (Dominion Douglas Church), 687 Roslyn Avenue, Westmount on Tuesday October 18th, at 2 pm.
Contributions in his memory to the Montreal Children's Library, 1200 Atwater Avenue, Montreal, H3Z 1X4 would be appreciated by the Boa family
