Josefina Belarmino

Josefina Basco Belarmino, fondly called by her relatives and friends “Josie”, Auntie Josie”, peacefully passed away Friday, August 26, 2022 after almost ten years of battling Dementia. She was 85 years old.

Josie was born on December 28, 1936 in Torrijos, Marinduque, Philippines. She was a graduate of University of Santo Tomas High School and received her BS Commerce degree from Far Eastern University, Manila, Philippines. She immigrated to Montréal, Canada in 1977 and lived there ever since. She was an active member of St. Kevin’s Roman Catholic Church and had been a member of the choir. She enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Petronilo Belarmino and Benigna Basco, siblings Manuel, Alfredo, Alicia, Erlinda, and Esperanza “Nancy”.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at the Centre Funeraire Cote-Des-Neiges from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Church services will be held at St. Kevin Parish Church Cote-Des-Neiges at 11:00 am with Rev. Herbert Shultz officiating.

The family would like to express our thanks for the wonderful help and care given by staff of CHSLD Vigi-Santè Mont-Royal during her almost ten years of residency in the nursing home.
