Joseph Torchia

Joseph Torchia (Joe) passed away peacefully on Friday, December 25th, 2020 in Montreal, at 90 years old. He was the beloved husband of Miriam for more than 42 years. Devoted father of Dayana, Louis, and Joseph (Joey, Fito). He also leaves behind his sister Anna, and sister-in-law Maria, as well as many other relatives and friends. He will also be missed by his favorite little green bird Gismo which he adored. His beloved wife Miriam (Mama) which he also adored was by his side until his last breath. No one could have taken better care of him as she did. "Thank you Mama!"

He started his career early on with Northern Telecom at the Lachine plant which he flourished for over 30 years. Joe was a very active man up until his late 80's who loved walking the streets of downtown Montreal on sunny days. With his smooth and silky skin, just like his beautiful mother Caterina. When people would meet him they would more than always be amazed at how young he looked and surprised by his actual age. Joe was loved by everyone as he was a very sweet and kind man. He will be missed by many.

The family will receive condolences at the Collins Clarke MacGillivray White funeral home (5610 Sherbrooke St W, Montreal) on January 6th, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 12.45 p.m., followed by a service at the Sainte Catherine de Sienne Parish (7070 Avenue Somerled, Montreal) at 1 p.m. Joseph Torchia's final resting place will be at the Notre Dame des Neiges cemetery (4601 Chemin de la Cote des Neiges, Montreal).

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the family would be preferred so that multiple masses can be offered threw out the year.
