Beloved wife of the late Theodosius Adekunle Dedeke, cherished mother of Adeola and Oluwole Dedeke (Brossard, QC). Sister of late Amy Subuola Olanrewaju Olaku (Lagos, Nigeria). She will also be deeply missed by many other relatives and friends.
As a young woman, Kofo Dedeke became the first female draftsman to work for the Nigerian Survey department, spending hours a a cartographer mapping her home country. She worked as a civil engineering technician in Montreal. Apart from her day job, Kofo established a dressmaking business and obtained a diploma in fashion design where she obtained the highest marks. She eventually left her technician career to focus on her family.
Kofo was a deeply religious woman. At the time of her passing, she was a member of both St. James United Church and St. Jax Montreal (formerly St. James The Apostle). She stayed active in retirement and took on leadership roles within the United Church Women (UCW) organization.
Being a truly social person, she thrived within Toastmasters International, an educational organization teaching public speaking and leadership skills. Through perseverance and hard work she achieved their highest designation, that of Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) in 2010.
“Kof”, as our late father affectionately called her, was a loving wife and wonderful mother, showering our family and her numerous friends with love and generosity. She shall truly be missed but her love and zest for life will live on in our hearts.
