Lucia was devoted to her faith in God, and she often found peace in recalling her favorite poems and prayers. And she was very dedicated to writing, a skill that was evident in her flawless handwriting and the many cards that she wrote to family & friends.
Lucia was also passionate about travel and enjoyed many vacations in her life. Over the years, she was grateful to have visited Italy, Jamaica, Hawaii, Maui, Barbados, Mexico, Portugal, the Canary Islands (Spain), as well as many trips across Canada, and in the USA.
In her mid-thirties, Lucia and her husband lived in Paris for a year and often travelled to neighbouring countries. They hosted family members and were happy to take their visitors on tours near and far.
Lucia will be remembered for her many accomplishments. In her early teaching years, she taught grade one in Kahnawake and later at École secondaire Horizon Jeunesse in Laval. She worked as a travel agent, as a jewelry sales representative, and as a mutual fund representative.
For all her achievements, friendships and kindnesses, we celebrate her for a life well-lived, full of passion in pursuing her dreams.
In honour of Lucia’s teenage wish to present a corsage to her mom who died suddenly on May 11, 1946 at the age of 54, Lucia will be presented with a commemorative corsage in honor of her mother.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, from 5 pm to 9 pm and the funeral will be held the following morning on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at 10:30 am. Both the visitation and the funeral will be at Centre funéraire Côte-des-Neiges, 4525 Chemin Côte-des-Neiges, Montreal, H3V 1E7.
