A note from her two boys:She was a mom to many, and a friend to so many more. What a woman, eh?Friends of Montreal et autour du monde: we are very sorry to share this news. Fffffffff… Here we go. Our Mom, your friend Cheryl, passed away this past Friday (21st) after her beautiful and feisty heart decided dialysis just wasn't for her. We're sure she must have given that machine hell though. As you all know, she lived vibrantly and lovingly right up until that last surprising, instantaneous moment which was far too damn soon. When she left England in 1976, at 22 years old, she left her family and friends to move to Montreal on a scholarship at McGill - oh she was a bright one! Little did she know that she would fall in love with both a young man of the world… and our very special city. One of them worked out, while the other gave her two boys and two grandkids who she simply "loved to bits" as she would say. She had a rare gift to quickly create meaningful relationships without effort, usually lasting decades. Her loyalty, humor, wit, love, generosity, passion, brilliance, and so much more will be celebrated this Sunday. Please join us August 30, 2015 with a 2 p.m. visitation and a 4 p.m. memorial service in the chapel to follow (address below). Please bring stories, wear something just a little colourful, and whatever we do, let's enjoy the celebration of her life. She wanted it that way.In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her name to the Mission of the Great Shepherd in Point Saint Charles (www.missiongrandberger.com), where she volunteered her precious time for many years. With much love, Matthew (Matty) and Jonathan (Johnny) - See more at: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/montrealgazette/obituary.aspx?n=cheryl-ann-buckley-maitre&pid=175660067&fhid=11437#sthash.jtcHZPvc.dpuf
