It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of our mother, Man Hung Wong, who took her last breath on July 29, 2025 at the age of 87, in Montreal. She was born on April 7, 1938, in Hong Kong. She immigrated to Canada, and married Sek Chao Tam in 1959 in Montreal, where they settled, and raised four children.
She was a kind, caring, generous, mother and wife. She was resilient of spirit, full of laughter, warm and friendly to all, even with her limited English. Momma’s hobbies included cooking (especially her healthy soups), baking (fluffy, divine chiffon cake), swimming, and gardening, which she enjoyed immensely and shared with friends and neighbour’s. She touched the lives of all who knew her in her kind and gentle way.
Sadly, her health deteriorated over the past month until she peacefully passed away. Her absence leaves a profound emptiness. Beloved wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother - we will cherish the beautiful memories we share and carry her spirit with us always.
She is survived by her husband, Sek Chao Tam, her children Grace (John), Betty (Jerry), Kim, and Wilson (Vivian). She is fondly remembered by her grandchildren Eric, Alex, Stephanie (Shaakir), Michael, and great grandchild Zayd.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Chinese Hospital for their care over the last couple of years and the staff at CHUM hospital for their diligent attention provided to our mother in her final days.
Rest in peace, Momma. You are gone but will be forever in our hearts.
