Maria Di Sano (née Di Clemente)

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Maria Di Sano, née Di Clemente, on January 24, 2026, in Montreal, Canada, at the age of 87.

Born and raised in Montreal, Maria spent her life deeply rooted in the city she loved. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, whose greatest joy came from caring for her family and creating a warm, welcoming home. A proud and dedicated woman, Maria expressed her love most clearly through her cooking—meals that brought people together and became lasting family memories.

Maria had a happy-go-lucky spirit and an easy warmth that made others feel comfortable in her presence. She loved music, laughter, and above all, her children and grandchildren. Her kitchen was often the heart of family life, a place filled with conversation, aromas, and affection. Maria will be remembered for her generosity, her joyful outlook on life, and the quiet strength with which she cared for those she loved. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Maria was predeceased by her beloved husband, Pietro Di Sano. She is survived by her children: Antonietta Di Sano (Jean Maucieri), Palma Di Sano (Joe Calabrese), Giuseppa Di Sano, Giovanni Di Sano, and Federico Di Sano. Maria was a proud and loving grandmother to Jessie, Lisa, Julia, Michael, and John, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

The viewing will be held at the Centre funéraire Côte-des-Neiges, 4525 Chemin de la Côte-des-Neiges, Montreal, Quebec H3V 1E7 on Saturday, February 7, 2026 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a ceremony.
