She lived most of her formative years in Mendham, New Jersey, where she graduated from high school. She earned a BA in History from Wittenburg University, Ohio, in 1968, and an MA in Anthropology (archaeology) from Indiana University in 1970.
While excavating at Tabun Cave, Israel, she met her future husband, Michael Bisson, and they were married in Livingstone, Zambia, on July 15, 1972. From that time onwards, they were partners on numerous archaeological projects throughout her life. These projects took her to Northern Quebec, England, France, Italy, Portugal, Israel, Jordan, and Zambia.
In 1979, she began teaching at Marianopolis College, where her courses were History of Western Civilization and Humans from the Stone Age to the Space Age. She retired in 2010.
She loved travel and wilderness hiking and camping. Her hobbies were gardening and trying to read every historical novel ever written.
The family will receive condolences on Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life at 3:00 p.m. at Collins Clarke Funeral Home, 5610 Sherbrooke St. W, Montréal, Québec.
