Marthe St-Onge

With heavy hearts,we announce the passing of our lovely and loving mom, Marthe. She passed away peacefully on May 30th 2025 at the Institute of Neurology in Montreal,Quebec with her children by her side. She was 86 years of age. She was born in Drummondville, Quebec on June 2 1938,where she was the eldest child of parents ,Simone Lambert and Alcide St-Onge. She graduated in 1960 as a nurse trained by the nuns of Soeurs Hospitalières Hôtel Dieu in Arthabaska,Quebec. Her long career in nursing was of 38 years. Marthe started at The Montreal General Hospital then the Catherine Booth Hosptal to go back to the General. Meanwhile, she worked as an obstetrical and gynecological nurse. She was the best vocational nurse anyone could have.She was an angel and gave such genuine care.She always wanted to care for young children especially. Marthe was the best mom,grandmother and great-grandmother to her family.Her day to day was just enjoying life in its simplicity while taking care of her family with lots of social events in her calendar. She was an accomplished foodie.She joins her beloved husband, (Richard Christman sr )(Joseph Kaspi)and leaves behind her children (Richard jr,Patricia )her grandchildren ( Thomas ( Anaïs ),Caroline ( Ashraf),Emily (Jenns) her great- grandchildren (Lina, Khadija,Violet) and her siblings ( Gabrielle, André,Gérard,Pierre,Monique,Céline,Jacques,Michel,Christiane,Gilles).Marthe was an exemplary mother figure and human being. She embodied the best of qualities: unconditional love, strength of spirit, and an unending generosity that could be seen in her care for her family friends and patients. We love you very much Nana !! You will be greatly missed. Funeral is on wednesday, June 11th 2025 at Centre funéraire Côte-des-Neiges.Viewing will take place from 12:00-16:00, followed by a mass in the chapel from 16:00-17:00. She will be laid to rest on July 8th at 10:45 in the mauseoleum at the Côte-des-Neiges cemetery.In lieu of flowers,donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

C’est avec une profonde tristesse que nous annonçons le décès de notre mère bien-aimée, Marthe St-Onge. Elle s’est éteinte paisiblement le 30 mai 2025 à l’Institut de neurologie de Montréal, Québec, entourée de ses enfants. Elle était âgée de 86 ans.

Marthe est née à Drummondville, Québec, le 2 juin 1938. Elle était l’aînée des enfants de Simone Lambert et Alcide St-Onge. Elle a obtenu son diplôme d’infirmière en 1960, après avoir été formée par les Sœurs Hospitalières à l’Hôtel-Dieu d’Arthabaska.

Sa carrière d’infirmière a duré 38 ans. Elle a travaillé au Montréal General Hospital, puis au Catherine Booth Hospital, avant de retourner au General. Elle s’est spécialisée en obstétrique et en gynécologie, et elle était reconnue pour sa vocation exceptionnelle et son dévouement sans faille. Marthe était un véritable ange, prodiguant des soins sincères et empreints de compassion, particulièrement auprès des jeunes bébés qu’elle affectionnait tout particulièrement.

Au-delà de sa carrière, Marthe était une mère, une grand-mère et une arrière-grand-mère attentionnée et aimante. Elle menait une vie simple, remplie de moments précieux en famille, tout en étant très active socialement. Fine gourmande, elle aimait les plats de tout les pays autant que toutes les cultures.

Marthe rejoint maintenant son époux bien-aimé, Richard Christman père et Joseph Kaspi. Elle laisse dans le deuil ses enfants, Richard fils et Patricia ; ses petits-enfants, Thomas (Anaïs), Caroline (Ashraf) et Emily (Jenns) ; ainsi que ses arrière-petites-filles, Lina, Khadija et Violet. Elle laisse également ses frères et sœurs : Gabrielle, André, Gérard, Pierre, Monique, Céline, Jacques, Michel, Christiane et Gilles.

Marthe incarnait l’amour inconditionnel, la force d’esprit et une générosité sans limites. Elle était un modèle de bonté, non seulement pour sa famille, mais aussi pour les nombreux patients et amis qu’elle a accompagnés au fil des années.

Nous t’aimons très fort, Nana. Tu nous manqueras énormément.

Les funérailles auront lieu le mercredi 11 juin 2025 au Centre funéraire Côte-des-Neiges. La famille recevra les condoléances de 12h00 à 16h00, suivies d’une cérémonie religieuse à la chapelle de 16h00 à 17h00. Marthe sera inhumée le 8 juillet à 10h45 au mausolée du cimetière Côte-des-Neiges.
