April 13, 1931 - Dec 13, 2025
After a well-lived life, Mary passed away peacefully in Montreal in her 95th year. Beloved aunt to her family in Ontario, favourite teacher to many, and a loyal, compassionate friend to others.
From Prime Ministers to students, Mary charmed all who met her. She was kind, caring, stylish, uncomplaining, independent and intelligently curious. Her interests and talents were varied from art, reading, music, to anything European. Mary was an encouraging, passionate teacher who led by example and put others first. She loved nothing more than visiting with family and friends, being involved in the Montreal Arts scene or being at The Church of St Andrew and St Paul in Montreal.
Thanks to the wonderful Westmount One staff who looked after Mary in her final years. She is greatly missed by her family. A private graveside burial will be held in Toronto next Spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Andrew’s Society of Montreal
