It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nadia Seifeddine, née Nadia Shaar, daughter to Kitaibi and Said Shaar (both deceased), on Thursday, April 30th, 2021, attended lovingly by close family and surrounded by the well-wishes of her many devoted friends.
A caring and devoted wife to her beloved Sami for over 70 years, the two were touchingly inseparable and almost never apart. One resonant consolation for all who knew her is that they are back in each other’s loving company.
Nadia was a generous, kind and loving mother to her daughter Amal and her sons Faysal and Rick; she made each of us feel as special as an only child. And in these most recent years, few joys were more complete for her than the love and attention of her cherished grandchildren; Adrian, Tristan, Tyler and Davie.
To describe Nadia as a kind and truly good soul can not help but understate the uniquely generous nature of her character. She never had an unkind or negative word about anyone, and she could gently encourage one’s better nature simply by virtue of her unimpeachable humanity and her moral integrity.
Active for her friends and her community, Nadia was constantly willing to help all in need, especially fellow immigrants down on their luck. She sought peace in her garden and among her plants and animals. May they surround her with their love and beauty into eternity.
In recognition of the special circumstances unfortunately imposed by the current public health crisis, a private ceremony and then burial (Centre funéraire Côte-Des-Neiges) for immediate family only will be held on Wednesday May 12, 2021. We sincerely wish we could all be together to recognize and celebrate Nadia’s wonderful life, but we also know that she would never want to place anyone in a position of health risk.
A memorial fund has been created in memory of Nadia to benefit the cardiology department at the Jewish General Hospital. Please use this link to make a memorial donation in lieu of flowers:
