Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse, Denise (Paquet), ses 3 filles, Marie-France, Valérie et Annie (Bassam), ses 3 petits-enfants, Michaël, Milana et Liam, sa soeur Josette ainsi que de nombreux cousin(e)s et ami(e)s.
Père et mari aimant et généreux, médecin de famille respecté, dévoué et apprécié (comme l’ont notamment confirmé les témoignages d’infirmières et de préposées aux bénéficiaires au CHUM qui furent ses patients par le passé), Nemours Lemaine a marqué la vie de nombreuses personnes qu’il a soignées, aidées et aimées, tant à Petit-Goâve en Haïti, qu’à Maria en Gaspésie (où il travailla à la fin des années 60) et à Montréal.
Il pratiquait une médecine familiale avec une approche bien personnelle: il n’hésitait pas à se rendre au domicile de ses patients plus âgés pour leur prodiguer des soins ou à discuter de politique ou de sport avec d’autres qui avaient le mal du pays. Ses patients lui étaient fidèles et tous se souviennent de son sens de l’humour unique!
Ses proches se souviendront aussi de lui comme d’un grand mélomane, un insatiable lecteur, un amateur de vin, un partisan du Canadien de Montréal (jusqu’à un certain échange en 2016…) et un immense fan de soccer - passions qu’il a transmises à ses filles et à ses petits-enfants.
La famille tient à remercier Dr. Granger-Vallée et les préposées aux bénéficiaires du CHUM qui ont prodigué à Nemours des soins et une attention exceptionnels.
