

Ngan Ying Ho (Mary Loo), 86, passed away at CHSLD-Centre d'hébergement Yvon-Brunet on March 23, 2023, with her family by her side. Wife of predeceased Bak Sing (Henry) Loo, she is survived by her 5 children, Jackson (Shirley Qiu), Lorraine (Kok Kheng Lee), John (Brenda Corpuz), Jeannie (David Mark) and Susan (Patrick Boissé), her 7 grandchildren, Kalvin and Amanda Lee, Valerie and Brandon Mark, Jade, Katherine and Jasmine Boissé, and a growing number of great grandchildren.
Ngan Ying was born in Guangzhou, China, on Jan. 27, 1937. She married Bak Sing, in China, a month before Bak Sing left on his own to Canada. They opened their laundry business after Bak Sing returned to China for her in 1957 and she became a permanent resident of Canada in May 1958.
Always a strong, independent, resourceful, hardworking and beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, she is remembered for her smile, love of family, how to make a dollar go a long way, and generosity to others.
Known around the neighbourhood as Mary she loved being outdoors. Neighbours and residences of the Outremont borough would often see her tending her front garden, walking around the neighbourhood every morning and afternoon or simply standing outside her front porch.
Visitation services will be held on Wednesday, March 29th, at 10am -8pm at Centre funéraire Côte-des-Neiges, 4525 Chem. de la Côte des Neiges, Montréal, QC, Funeral Services will be held on Thursday March 30th, at 9:30am to 11am.
