October 21, 1937 - October 29, 2025
Pat passed away peacefully in Calgary, where he has been looked after lovingly by his daughter Aimée (since Fall 2021), alongside a wonderful team of caregivers at Aspen Heights Residence (since Fall 2023).
Proud father of Aimee, Marc (Tricia), and Julie (Dan). Adoring Bapa to Nicky (Marilis and baby Dorothée), Aidan, Ben, Dominic, and Tristan. Predeceased by his wife Mary Macdonald, and brother Guy, Pat is also survived by his 2 loving sisters Sue Quarles and Lise Trudel along with extended family. Following Mary's passing, Lise cared for Pat in Knowlton prior to his move to Calgary.
A successful accountant professionally, far more important is who Pat was as a person. He was kind, generous, gentle, goofy, agreeable, energetic, hardworking, hard playing, positive, and by any measure, a happy person.
Growing up in Montreal West, he was proudly bilingual from an early age. He gave of himself willingly and tirelessly in ways large and small. He was a terrific athlete, a compassionate group leader, a teacher, and a fun-loving Dad. His work as an accountant allowed him into the lives of people, young and old, supporting their ideas and helping them navigate through challenges, always with a smile. His volunteer activities were too many to list, but he approached them all the same way: with care and focus. Pat's many years on and around Owl's Head provided lasting memories for him. His infectious passion for outdoor activity of all kinds knew no bounds and has been passed down to the next generations.
A celebration of his life will take place on Sunday, December 7th between 12PM and 3PM at Collins Clark Funeral Home 5610 Sherbrooke St W, Montreal, Quebec H4A 1W5. A life tribute and commemoration of Pat's life will take place at 1PM at the funeral home, where words of remembrance will be shared.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to Memphremagog Conservation Inc. (MCI) would be appreciated.
