I just heard this week that Dick has left us.  I am truly saddened.  I worked with Dick at CM Canada and enjoyed his company at the many CM Sales Meetings over years.  We all enjoyed Dick's enthusiasm, he made the world a more fun place to be.  I will miss him.  Rest in peace Dick.

Au fil des 11 dernières années, Dick a été un voisin extraordinaire, chaleureux, enjoué, dévoué, toujours prêt à donner un coup de main. I met Dick when I became his neighbour. it was in the late fall over a dozen years ago and when Christmas time came along, he invited me to their home for Christmas eve. So after spending time with my family I came home to see the lights on at his house. He and his family greeted me so warmly even though they did not know me very well.
We played board games andlaughed for a good while.
After that night, Dick and I shared many activities. We would go play hockey outside together and although he was older, Dick played a solid game. You just coudn't  take the puck away from him easily. He could pull a move and then pass it off or even go around you.
I remember this one particulr day that was awesome for it's beautiful blue Laurentian sky. We drove up to Val-Morin where the guy takes care of the rink like it was the Forum. We played for hours and I remember quoting Pittsburgh coach Bob Johnson who used to famously say "It's a great day for hockey!"
And on that February day it was as great as it gets.We then left the rink to see Team Canada with Lemieux and company win gold in the salt lake games.
Dick was a very astute observer of not only hockey but other sports that we watched like football and boxing. He could tell before anybody which athletes were playing  strongly and which were showing weakness and also had a great memory of the events.
He came to my super bowl parties for many years and a great time would be had by all.
I will miss him dearly.


I worked with Dick when he was at Columbus McKinnon.  We would only see each other once a year at our sales meetings but he was always fun to hang out with an have a cold beverage.

Parfois, il est difficile de trouver les mots sur notre ressenti et nos émotions. La mort est toujours innaceptable et je souhaite que vous sachiez puiser le courage pour affronter cette bien triste réalité. Repose en paix Dick de Ti-Lou présidente de tes amis gommettes; Charles, Serge, Gaét, Bernard, Rick, André, Faber.
