Roselyne (Phillion) Perron

C’est avec une peine immense que la famille et les proches de madame Roselyne Perron vivent sa disparition survenue ce 22 novembre 2023, après un séjour de dix semaines aux soins palliatifs de l’hôpital Notre-Dame de Montréal. Sa flamme légendaire s’est éteinte doucement, lentement, dans un instant d’ultime sérénité.

Elle laisse dans le deuil les quatre enfants nés de son mariage avec feu l’industriel Jean Perron : Andrée (Réjean), Lucie (Jean-Claude), Richard (Rosemary) et Danielle (Scott). Sont également laissés dans la tristesse, ses arrière-petits-enfants et ses petits-enfants : Philippe, Catherine, Mélinda, Sophie-Danielle et Tihn . Leur peine est partagée par ses sœurs et frère : Edna (Réal), Marcelle, Claire et Daniel.

Née le 4 novembre 1936, dans la ville minière de Timmins, dans le Nord-Est de l’Ontario, Roselyne suit sa famille jusqu’à Amos, là où l’industrie minière le dispute à l’industrie forestière. Dans cet univers de pionniers et de défricheurs venus d’Europe et de partout au Québec, elle acquiert la conviction qu’aucune difficulté n’est insurmontable, une certitude transmise à ses enfants en même temps qu’un humour inégalé.

Infirmière de formation, elle exerce son métier à la mine de Normétal, au sanatorium Saint-Jean de Macamic et à l’Hôtel-Dieu d’Amos. Elle y travaille lorsqu’elle rencontre puis épouse Jean Perron, fils du fondateur de l’entreprise Normick-Perron de La Sarre, dont il devient l’un des copropriétaires. En plus d’épauler son mari, Roselyne s’est consacrée au bénévolat et elle a déployé ses talents de conférencière à travers le Québec. Elle a, entre autres, été membre du conseil d’administration de l’hôpital Douglas et de la fondation de l’hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont. Elle a siégé au conseil d’administration de l’Association des hôpitaux du Québec, a été présidente de l’Association pulmonaire du Québec, ainsi que première femme à avoir accédé à la présidence de l’Association Pulmonaire du Canada.

Pour célébrer sa vie et son inaltérable bonne humeur, Roselyne a souhaité réunir sa famille et ses très chers amis de l’Abitibi et de Montréal autour d’une agréable rencontre. Roselyne Perron née Phillion 1936 – 2023

It is with immense pain that the family and friends of Roselyne Perron announce her passing on November 22, 2023, after 10 weeks in the palliative care unit of L’Hopital Notre-Dame de Montreal. Her legendary flame dimmed softly and led gently to a peaceful end.

She leaves in mourning her four children born from her marriage with the late Jean Perron: Andree (Rejean), Lucie (Jean-Claude), Richard (Rosemary) and Danielle (Scott). Also left in sadness, are her great grandchildren and grandchildren: Philippe, Catherine, Melinda, Sophie-Danielle and Tinh.

Born on the 4th of November 1936 in the mining town of Timmins, northeastern Ontario, Roseylne followed her family to Amos, Quebec, the heart of the mining and forestry industries. In a world of pioneers and trail blazers from across Europe and throughout Quebec, she developed her conviction that no challenge is insurmountable, a quality that she passed on to her children along with her unflappable sense of humour.

As a registered nurse, she followed her calling to work in the Normetal mine, the Saint-Jean de Macamic, long-term care facility and l’Hotel-Dieu d’Amos. During this time, she met and married Jean Perron, son of the founder of Normick Perron of La Sarre, Quebec, of which he became a co-owner. In addition to supporting her husband, Roselyne devoted herself to volunteer work and deployed her talents as a public speaker across Quebec. Among other things, she was on the board of the Douglas Hospital, the Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital Foundation, and Quebec Hospital Association. She was president of the Quebec Lung Association and the first woman to become president of the Canadian Lung Association.

It was Roselyne’s wish to unite her family and friends from Abitibi and Montreal to celebrate her life and joie de vivre. Please join the family on Sunday, December 3, 2023, from 15h to 17h at the Côte-des-Neiges Funeral Centre, 4525 Chemin de la Côte-des-Neiges, Montreal.
