Sze Man Gee

Peacefully, surrounded by his family, Sze Man passed away on Thursday February 23rd, 2023 at the age of 86. He was a devoted and loving husband to Yim Man for more than 50 years and a loving father to Ellen (David), Elvie (Raymond), Elsie (Gordie), Ellie (James) and Simon. A proud grandfather of nine treasured grandchildren Kaitlyn and Michelle; Jasmine and Christopher; Matthew, Micheal and Mason; Oliver and Tyson. Dear brother of the late Mee Kuk, and Wai Mon, Sen Men and Mee Fong.

Many people knew Sze Man as “Simon” who had a strong hard-work ethic and of which many were at Chinese restaurants. He was born in Taishan Province, China; lived in Hong Kong and various cities in North America; and eventually immigrated to Canada at the age of 19. The youngest of three sons and two daughters, an infant Sze Man grew up in the realities of war and hardship, putting others first at a very young age - which shaped him to be a strong-willed, independent and good-hearted man.

Sze Man will be sadly missed by his family, extended family and all who knew him.

Visitation at Centre Funéraire Côte-des-Neiges on 4525, Chemin de la Côte-des-Neiges, Montréal, Québec on Thursday, March 2, 2023 from 2pm to 8pm and on Friday, March 3, 2023 from 9am to 11am. Burial at Rideau Memorial Gardens on 4239 boul. des Sources, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Quebec on Friday, March 3 at 1:30pm.
