

Theodor Daubner passed away quietly in his home Thursday morning, August 27, three months after the death of his beloved wife of seventy-three years, Sophie. He is mourned and will be greatly missed by his devoted children, Ernestine and Pierre Calando, Hilda and Henry Gervais, as well as by his dearly loved grandson Fabrice Calando and Jenifer Chappell who gave him a great-grandson, Samuel, bringing him joy during his last months.
He will also be remembered by numerous family members in Germany and Slovakia, and by nephews and nieces, Raymond and Nancy Daniel (New Jersey, USA), Mary and Michael Binder (Burlington, Ontario), John and Elizabeth Schlachta (Ottawa), Henry and Carol Schlachta (Montreal), as well as by many friends and acquaintance who admired and loved him. His nephew, Frank Schlachta, sadly predeceased him this year.
A funeral service will be held at St. Ignatius Church, 4455 West Broadway, Montreal, NDG, on Thursday, the 3rd of September, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm for visitation, after which there will be a Mass in his honor. A small reception for family and friends will be held at his home afterwards.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to organizations such as Doctors Without Borders or other war- and disaster-relief organizations.
