.Al was a longtime resident of Continental Village where he shared a home with his wife of 61 years, MaryAnn Rosato Weber.
He was proud to be a US Marine Corps veteran. After his service, Al took a job at Con Edison where he worked for 32 years. A nuclear millwright, talented machinist and a gifted craftsman, he loved the challenges his work presented. Al could design, build and fix anything; as he did for many friends and neighbors throughout his life. Al was a voracious reader, particularly curious and love to learn how everything worked. With the computer age he acquired electronic devises with enthusiasm. He loved sports cars, motorcycles, and enjoyed his skydiving with over 100 jumps! His knowledge extended well beyond the nuclear millwright. Friends will remember stimulating conversations and he loved playing devil’s advocate. Most of all, Al was a people person (he wouldn’t say it like that) taking a genuine interest in everyone he met. He loved rescuing animals. His dogs Ambrose, Winnie, Samantha and his cats Pookie, Morphy MinnMinn, Moby, and Spike, all found a home at the Webers including an abandon baby skunk, injured squirrels and birds.
Al is survived by his wife, MaryAnn Rosoto Weber their three children, Susan Weber, Deborah Weber, her son Samuel Weber Gustavson, Erik Weber, his wife Cammy Jeffcoat Weber and her two sons Wilbur and Adam Jeffcoat. Additionally, his nephew John Weir, nieces Carolyn Broadwater, Patti Jennings, Valerie L’Heureux, and their families, who lovingly knew him as Butch.
Al Weber live every day fully until his death. He will be missed.
A memorial visitation is scheduled for Thursday, August 18 from 10am-1pm. Inurnment will follow at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Putnam Valley, NY.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.efcarter.com for the Weber family.
