

Charles William Sozzi passed away on August 2, 2022 at the age of 90. Charles William Sozzi (lovingly called Charlie or Chuck) was born in the Bronx, NY on November 12th, 1931 to Anna Johnson Sozzi and Leo Sozzi Sr. He was the oldest of 5 boys, brothers Leo Sozzi Jr (wife Pat), Richard Sozzi (wife Joan), George Sozzi (wife Judy) and Victor Sozzi (wife Jane).
Charlie was a Marine and a Korean War Veteran. He was an electrician and supervisor for the New York Railroad for over 25 years and was passionate about trains. He also loved race cars, going out crabbing on his boat, photography and traveling with his loving wife.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Anna and Leo Sozzi, and brother Richard Sozzi and Son in-law Darryl Keif.
He is survived by his wife who he adored, Mary, his daughter Carol Ann Keif, son James Sozzi (Jeanine), and daughter Janet Morris (Chuck) as well as his five step sons Vincent (Joanne), David (Dawn), Thomas, Gary and Christopher. Papa Chuck, as he was so lovingly called by his grandchildren, leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Charles was a true gentleman and had the kindest heart. He never met a stranger and was sincerely devoted to his family. He told the most wonderful stories, made everyone laugh, and always had a smile on his face – his positivity stayed with him until his very last days. He touched everyone’s lives and will be forever missed.
Visitation with the family will be on Monday, August 8th from 3PM-5PM and 7PM-9PM at the Edward F. Carter Funeral Home, 170 Kings Ferry Rd., Montrose, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend Mass at St. Christopher’s Church in Buchanan, NY on Tuesday, August 9th at 10am. Burial will follow at Saint Patrick’s Cemetery in Verplanck.
