OBITUARY

Dorothy "Dot" Luongo

September 8, 1949February 12, 2017

Dorothy Ann Luongo, daughter of Douglas and Dolores Nutly from Yorktown Heights, N.Y., passed away on February 12, 2017 peacefully at her home in Gilboa, N.Y after a long battle with cancer. Dorothy was born in Peekskill, NY on September 8, 1949. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Daniel who was killed in Vietnam, and her sister Diane Brown. She is survived by her loving husband James and their children Daniel (Teresa) Luongo, Denise Tarchine and Sandra Luongo. Her grandchildren; Jayde Morgan; Rachael, Hayley and William Luongo and Samantha Tarchine. She also leaves behind her niece Kelly Walters. Dorothy “Dot” enjoyed gardening, knitting, classic cars, motorcycle rides and especially tending to her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by many family members and friends. A memorial service will be given in her honor on Monday, February 20th from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Edward F. Carter Funeral Home in Montrose, N.Y. followed by her burial at Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla, N.Y. All are welcomed.
