Missing this beautiful special friend 💔

We just learned of Eileen's passing and a were very saddened to hear this news. She was a very nice and kind lady and a good neighbor. She and I learned to play tennis together many many years ago. I'm sure she will be missed by her family and please send our condolences to all.

We feel so lucky to have known Eilleen. She welcomed us as family when we moved into mystic 7 years ago and treated us with such kindness.  Always so warm and caring.  Always smiling. Always able to put a smile on our faces.  We truly loved Eilleen and will miss her so very much. Sending so much love to Bill and the family. 

The memories are bitter sweet of this special lady, a neighbor and friend for 16 years, bitter because I never got  the chance to say goodbye, or give her one last hug, and sweet because I got to remember her as the sweetest, generous, friend. Always ready to sit and chat, usually over a nice glass of wine or a cup of tea. Really 🍷 the best advise, and we shared stories and love and pride of our children an grandchildren. Many ladies lunches, and ladies night out, and celebrating dinners for birthdays etc., and of course the many “Corned Beef and Cabbage” “St. Patty’s Day dinners, hers were the best. May she RIP with the Lord 🙏

We met Eileen and her husband, Bill together with her brother, Bob and his wife Cathy on the Queen Mary 2 on a voyage from New York up the Eastern seaboard to Quebec and back in 2014. We had a ball together and this was the start of a friendship which would see us meeting up again in New York and Boston when we got over to the States from the UK. She was a lovely lady, full of practical good sense, a deep thinker who loved her family to the moon and back. I will never forget our last time together. The others were off doing something else and just the two of us looked around a little local church and talked about the ways of the world.  I felt a strong connection to her that day although we didn’t really know each other that well. My husband and I are deeply saddened to hear of her passing, knowing now there will be no more chances of a meet up as and when we can finally get back to the States.  We send our heartfelt condolences to Bill and all her family and we will remember her with great fondness. A Scottish poet called Thomas Campbell wrote these words at the end of the seventeen hundreds “to live in hearts you leave behind is not to die” and Eileen will live on in our hearts for sure.
