

Funmilayo “Gladys” Oyebode, aged 60, passed on Sept 27, 2017 in Westchester Medical Center after a long bravely fought battle with Pulmonary Hypertension.
She blessed the world in Lagos, Nigeria on February 7th1957 to Mr Samuel and Mrs Florence Adebusuyi.
Funmilayo attended and graduated from Randell high school in Surulere, Lagos and worked as teacher and successfully business women, before getting married and moving to New York.
She married her soulmate Komolafe Oyebode of Ogotun Ekiti, Nigeria on August 29th, 1981. They were married for 36 blissful years.
She graduated from BOCES as a LPN and worked in various nursing homes including Holy Comforter Field Home.
Outside of work she loved to watch Nollywood movies, cook for her family/friends and attend social events. Her family, friends and patients gave her the most joy in her life. She touched so many hearts over the course of her life especially with her acclaimed batches of jollof rice!
She is survived by her loving husband Komolafe, their three children Temidayo, Lola and Ajibola.
There will be a small private memorial service at Edward Carter Funeral Home of Montrose on Oct 14th before her body is finally laid to rest in Nigeria
