Jim was born on October 26, 1939 in Mt. Vernon, NY to the late Michael and Ann “Josie” (Quinn) Reilly.
He grew up in Yonkers where his parents owned a bar called The 44. By the time he was 17 the family moved to Verplanck and he attended his senior year at Hendrick Hudson High School where he made lifelong friendships. He graduated in 1958 and a few months later, joined the Navy and served for 2 years. He was a member of the Carpenter’s Union 608. His lifelong passion for building things kept him occupied well into his retirement years.
He is survived by his beloved children, Matthew and Loretta A. Reilly and his loving grandchildren, Jenna Reilly, Ryan, Ethan and Dylan Chan. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Ketty in 2012 and his brother Michael and sister MaryEllen Vargo.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 15, 2019 from 4-8 pm at the EDWARD F. CARTER FUNERAL HOME, 170 Kings Ferry Rd., Montrose, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 16th at St. Patrick’s Church in Verplanck, NY. Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery also in Verplanck.
