Joseph is the true definition of a fighter. Even with the odds stacked against him from day 1, he faced each day with indescribable bravery. Despite the challenges from his disability, he never let anything get in the way of living his life to the absolute fullest - a lesson that many of us never truly learn. Joseph was a lot of things for many people throughout his lifetime - a friend to laugh with, a shoulder to cry on, a voice of reason. He was the type of person you could just talk for hours with. He was bright, witty, and had the most amazing sense of humor. I’ve never seen anyone around Joseph not laughing or smiling. His presence alone made people happy. His smile was contagious and the sound of his laughter could warm anyone’s heart.

What was most admirable about Joseph was his outlook on life. His spirit was unbreakable. He never let anything hold him back. He traveled the country, met people from all over the world, and made lasting memories along the way. He never let fear or “what if” from stopping him from living his dream. He taught us all that it doesn’t matter what cards your dealt in life- what matters is how you play the hand. He made every single second of his life count.

While Joseph’s passing leaves us all with an ache in our hearts, let us take this opportunity to gather together and reflect on how lucky we were to have him. How lucky we were to love such a special person. And even though his time with us was far too short, we will continue to celebrate his life and keep him alive in spirit forever.

Joseph loved to have fun so that’s what we are going to do. Immediately following the services all are asked to please come celebrate Joseph’s life at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel at 155 Highland Ave in Verplanck.

I met Joe when he attended high school. I’m privileged to have known such an awesome person. Joe was a kind soul and so respectful!
I saw him last October at Lauren and Steven’s wedding. We rode in the elevator together and reminisced about school and teachers... he made me seriously LOL
💙🙏🏻 Rest sweet Joe.

Zack and I are heartbroken. We are both so lucky to have had the honor of Joey in our lives. An amazing friend to Zack and to me as well. Always a smile and funny story. Always kind.

We reach out to you with all our love in this sorrowful time. Celebrating Joey is the perfect thing to do. He loved to celebrate life with everyone around him - every day.

My deep sorrow for Joseph's family. I'm a friend of Gayle and Steve. I didnt know you son & I do I know anyone in family. I'm from Queens. I do think i know the pain you are feeling. My son also Joe also died at 25. I pray you (I guess I'm talking to the Mom) will take care of yourself, rest, eat, talk if you feel like it, dont if you don't. Stay with people who will let you just be! I pray you can live through this. You're the one who will make him alive to others by telling about him. That's what you need to do It s what you will live for . Be his voice, You may not like what I said now, but when you're ready you will. My niece and sister saved me, and God will send someone to save you too. Gods love to you
