Joseph Graviano, a resident of Yorktown Heights, NY, passed away on April 12, 2025. He was 76 years old. Joseph was born on July 11, 1948 in New York, NY to the late John and Mary (Zanghi) Graviano. He served in the United States Airforce from 1968-1969. Before his retirement, Joseph worked for 25 years with the United States Postal Service.
Joseph had to overcome much in his life including a lifelong struggle with mental illness. Through it all he served his country in the Air Force, receiving an honorable discharge. He became a subject matter expert in movies and especially music. Of particular note, he had the most incredible memory and (as an example) he would know and easily recall every detail in the life of the most obscure actor that was in a movie that most people never heard of.
He is survived by his two brothers, Anthony Graviano and Jon Graviano.
Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, April 16th from 2-5 pm at Edward F Carter Funeral Home, 170 Kings Ferry Road, Montrose, NY 10548, where a prayer service will take place at 3:30 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his honor to NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness)
