Laura Hayes

Laura Hayes, a resident of Montrose, NY, passed away on June 12, 2025. She was 95 years old. Laura was born on May 4, 1930 in Ossining, NY to the late George and Laura (Cusimano) Carey. In addition to being a great Mom, Sister, Nanny and Aunt, she was a singer for over 30 years, worked in a ceramic studio, loved gardening and socializing with her friends, that she called family. She was always doing something crafty, especially jewelry making in her later years, and loved her crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her daughter, Maureen Trautmann and son-in-law, Ed; daughter-in-law, Julie; grandchildren, Erin, Kaci, Allison, Lindsay (Kevin), Michael (Sharon) and Christopher; great grandchildren, Katelyn, Shelby (Hunter), Madison (Joe), Angelina (Marvin), Nickolas, Mason, Hudson, Owen, Brogan, Patrick, Jackson, Nicholas and Matthew; and great-great grandchildren Sophia, Annabelle, Alora, Adelyn, Nova, Lucille, Raiden, Brixton and Evelyn. She is also survived by her sister, Ida Cassidy; niece, Sharon Cassidy; nephews, Dan (Beth), Kevin and Jim Cassidy; great nieces, nephews and their children.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Bill; son, Michael; sister, June; and brother-in-law, Dan.

Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, June 18th from 3-7pm at Edward F Carter Funeral Home, 170 Kings Ferry Rd., Montrose, NY 10548. A funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, June 19th at 12:00pm at the funeral home. Interment to follow at St. Augustine Cemetery, Hawkes Avenue, Ossining, NY 10562.
