Margaret Ann Caputo

Margaret Ann (Peggy) Caputo of Cortlandt Manor, NY passed away on April 26, 2023. She was 87. Peggy was born January 8, 1936 in Plattsburgh, NY to the late Michael and Ivis (Dukette) Weir. She worked for many years as a legal secretary, retiring from Kane Miller Corp. in Tarrytown NY in 2001.

Peggy enjoyed traveling and took many exotic trips around the world including annual trips to Mexico to her timeshare. One of her favorite stories was of riding an elephant through the jungle.

She is survived by her daughters, Karen (Philip) Hakala and Susan (Brian) Lynam. Her grandchildren Danielle Winters, Stephanie (Mitchell) Bradham, Melissa (Brian) Morritti, Christopher (Nicole) Hakala and Brian (Stephanie) Lynam. Great-grandchildren Tyler Winters, Zacharie Bower, Mackenzie Bradham, Allison Bradham, Mitchell Bradham, Kalem McArthur, Jackson Mitchell, Willow Lynam and Bear Lynam. She is also survived by her brother, Michael (Elaine) Weir and many nieces and nephews. A special thank you to her niece, Deb Wisker, for all the love and support she gave during Peggy’s final years.

Peggy was predeceased by her husband James Caputo. Also her sisters Rita Borich, Jean Conklin and Patricia Duclos.

A Memorial service is scheduled for May 20, 2023 at Edward F Carter Funeral Home, 170 Kings Ferry Road, Montrose, NY 10567 from 11am - 1pm and a Celebration of Life immediately following at the Montrose Fire House, 2143 Albany Post Rd, Montrose, NY 10548 from 1pm - 3pm.
