Mary E. Jenerose
December 21, 1929 – November 30, 2019
Mary E. Jenerose of Montrose, NY passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2019. She was 89 years old. Mary was born on December 21, 1929 to the late Gaetano and Rosina (Onorato) Radassao. She graduated Peekskill High School in 1947. She married her husband, Frank Jenerose on August 30, 1953 and moved to their home on Crystal Ct. in Montrose and lived there until her passing. Frank predeceased her in 2011. Mary worked for Fleischmann Distillery after high school. She then worked for Hendrick Hudson High School. Mary then found her “Dream Job” working as a Library Aide at Peekskill High School for 35 years, where she was known as “Miss J”. She proudly retired at the age of 77. Mary loved using the computer to be up to date with all current events and keeping her family informed on politics starting at 5am every morning. Her other passion was working outside, whether it was shoveling snow or manicuring the lawn and garden to make sure her home looked beautiful. She is survived by her beloved daughters, Valerie Mazzucca and her husband Louis and Nancy Turrone and her husband Gregory; adoring grandchildren, Gregory P. Turrone, Matthew F. Turrone and Christopher Mazzucca and cherished great grandchildren, Mackenzie and Tyler Turrone. Mary is also survived by her niece and nephew, Mariann Grogan and Joseph Morabito. She was predeceased by her brother John Radassao and sister Pearl Morabito. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 from 3 to 7 pm at the EDWARD F. CARTER FUNERAL HOME, 170 Kings Ferry Rd., Montrose, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 5th at St. Patrick’s Church in Verplanck, NY. Burial will follow at Assumption Cemetery in Cortlandt Manor, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mary’s name should be made to: Peekskill High School Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 827, Peekskill, NY 10566.
