He is survived by his beloved wife, Jill V. Berndt; his sons, Ryan Berndt (and wife Krista Hunstein) and Craig Berndt; his granddaughters, Juniper Rose and Hazel Joy; his cherished granddogs; his brother, Anthony Berndt; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Michael’s humor and kindness were matched only by the signature grumpiness that those closest to him found endearing. Beneath that tough exterior was a man who loved fiercely and showed up for his family every day. His presence will be missed, and his love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
