It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Brown, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend. Michael passed away on April 8, 2026, at the age of 52.
Born on November 15, 1973, in Peekskill, NY, Michael was the cherished son of Gary M. and Jeri (Jacoby) Brown. He grew up in a family full of love and support, and throughout his life, Michael carried that spirit of devotion to those closest to him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his wife and best friend, Brigid (Haas) Brown, whom he married in May 2005, sharing a love that lasted 21 years. Michael’s children, daughter Brooke Brown and son Patrick Hughes, were the light of his life, and he was a proud and devoted father.
Michael was also the loving brother to Christopher Brown (Mary Ellen), and he is survived by his nieces, Amanda Klosowski (Michael) and Kellie Brown. He was deeply loved by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, and his family is comforted knowing that his legacy will continue to inspire those who were lucky enough to know him.
A proud graduate of Hendrick Hudson High School, Michael went on to attend technical school and became a skilled mechanic. His passion for all things Harley-Davidson was a big part of his life, and he found joy in both riding and talking about motorcycles. In addition to his love for bikes, Michael was an avid sports fan who enjoyed attending Ranger games and racing events with his father, a bonding time they both cherished deeply.
Above all, Michael was a devoted family man. His greatest joy came from spending time with his loved ones. He was a constant source of love, strength, and laughter to his family and friends, and his absence will be felt by all who knew him. He will always be remembered for his generosity, his kind heart, and his willingness to lend a hand whenever needed.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 12, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Edward F. Carter Funeral Home, 170 Kings Ferry Rd., Montrose, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, April 13, 2026, at 10:15 AM at Holy Spirit Church, followed by burial at Hillside Cemetery in Cortlandt Manor, NY.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the GoFundMe page TBD.
Michael’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him. He was a true gem, and he will be greatly missed.
