Michael D. McCaffrey

April 25, 1952 – February 15, 2025

Michael D. McCaffrey, 72, of Peekskill, NY, passed away peacefully at home on February 15, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on April 25, 1952, in Croton-on-Hudson, NY, Michael was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose warmth and dedication touched the lives of many.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Peggy McCaffrey, his two sons, Steven McCaffrey and Michael McCaffrey, and his three cherished grandsons. Michael was one of four boys and is also survived by his brothers Patrick McCaffrey and Edward McCaffrey. He was predeceased by his beloved brother Robert "Bob" McCaffrey.

Michael dedicated 37 years of service as a driver for the Town of Cortlandt Highway Department before his well-earned retirement.

A lifelong and passionate fan of the New York Mets and Jets, Michael’s love for his teams was only rivaled by his meticulous care for his bright red truck, a familiar sight around town. A beloved presence in the community, he was known as the "Mayor" for his friendly and sociable nature. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
