He is survived by his wife Donna, daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa and Tony DeLuca, Torri and James Blose and his two most treasured granddaughters, Carmella and Olivia DeLuca. He is also survived by his brother, Dr. Anthony Curinga (Cheryl), his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, John and Kathy Mecca; Eileen Curinga; Floyd Miller. Richard was predeceased by his parents; his sister Deborah Miller and brother Rocco Curinga Jr.
Richard lived all his life in Verplanck and was very well known and beloved. Not only was he a wonderful and spirited person, he was husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. Not only by his family, but the whole town of Verplanck couldn’t help but fall in love with this man. Although it may be sad, we have to think of what he wanted. He loved his granddaughters more than anything, but all he wanted was peace, so God granted him peace.
He was a lifelong member of the Mt. Carmel Society and the Verplanck Fire Department. He worked for the Town of Cortlandt and he loved driving down to the dock and all around Verplanck, holding up traffic as he waved to everyone. He loved his wife and Jesus more than he could show.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to the “Franciscan Sister of the Sacred Heart” 250 South Street, Peekskill, NY 10566, Attn: Sr. Angelene.
