Richard B Fay

Richard B. Fay, a longtime resident of Buchanan, NY, passed away on December 26, 2025. He was 77 years old. Richard was born on October 23, 1948 in Peekskill, NY to the late John Patrick Fay, II and Wilma Conklin. He graduated from Parsons School of Design in NYC. Before his retirement, he was the owner and operator of Gallon Measure in Buchanan, NY for 42 years with his business partner Romas Cesnavicius. Longtime member of Westchester Street Rod Association and Lion’s Club. His hobbies included art, photography, motorcycle racing, fishing and music.

He is survived by his wife, the former Deborah Sorano; his two daughters Meredith (Jose) Acosta and Deidre (Ryan Haan) Fay; his grandchildren Layla and Julian Acosta; his brothers Randall (Connie) Fay and David (Diane) Fay and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother John Patrick Fay, III and his sister Frances Hammond.

Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, December 31st from 9am-10:30am at Edward F Carter Funeral Home, 170 Kings Ferry Road, Montrose, NY 10548. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Wednesday, December 31st at 11am at St. Patrick’s Church, 240 11th Street, Verplanck, NY 10596. Interment will be private.
