

Richard J. Campbell, a longtime resident of Montrose, New York, passed away on May 3, 2026. He was 80 years old. Richard was born on June 24, 1945, in Brooklyn, New York, to the late James and Frances (Johnson) Campbell.
On March 12, 1966, he married the love of his life, Linda (Bolch) Campbell. They shared 47 years of marriage together before her passing on September 30, 2013.
Proudly serving his country, Richard was a veteran of the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era, serving from March 1966 to 1968. Following his military service, he built a career as a welder working on the Algonquin Pipeline.
Richard found joy in life’s simple and meaningful moments. He especially loved watching the eagles down at the riverfront, a place that brought him peace. He also enjoyed gardening and working with his hands. His passion for woodworking left a lasting legacy, as his family will always cherish the many pieces he lovingly created. He had a lifelong love of cars, enjoyed building model cars, and even crafted a working model boat.
He is survived by his loving daughters, Tina Brett (George), Denise Moore (Billy), and Kimberly Campbell; his cherished grandchildren, Deirdre Brett (Christopher Celecki), Matthew Moore, and Ethan Moore; his sister, Kathleen Nagwak; and his niece and nephew, Jennifer and William Nagwak.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, May 8, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Edward F. Carter Funeral Home, 170 Kings Ferry Road, Montrose, NY. A funeral service will be held at 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Committal services will be private.
