Timothy Joseph Boyle

Timothy J. Boyle of Poughquag, NY, formerly of Verplanck, NY, has passed away on Monday, October 7, 2019. He was 70 years old. Timothy was born on November 28, 1948 to the late Timothy J. and Mary (Culligan) Boyle in New York City, NY. Timothy was a hard working man who retired from Metro North as a 3rd Rail Foreman. As a young boy he attended Rice high school were he set records for swimming (breast stroke). He was a member of the Madison Square boys club where he learned the skill of woodworking and developed a long life passion for it. He went on to proudly serve in the US Army 173nd Airborne Paratroopers during the Vietnam war. He became a member of the DAV. He was married to the love of his life Jannine Haight on August 27, 1977. On his off time he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He made furniture and he was a master home renovator. He was also a classic car enthusiast. Besides his lovely wife his greatest passion was restoring his 1967 Pontiac GTO. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jannine Boyle; loving sons, Christian Nelson and Shawn Nelson; caring sisters, Patsy Haut, Frances Good, Kathleen Mitchell and Patricia Pittman and his adoring grandchildren, Alisha, Daniel, Raquel, Gloria, Samantha and Austin. He was predeceased by his son Timothy J. Boyle in 1989 and his sister Maureen Lois in 1994. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 11, 2019 from 4 to 8pm at the EDWARD F. CARTER FUNERAL HOME, 170 Kings Ferry Rd., Montrose, NY. Funeral Services will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday, October 12th at 11AM. Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Verplanck, NY.
