Ada Mae (Renfrow) Taylor was born to Eliza and Robert Renfrow on May 8, 1919, or 1917, according to the 1920 census in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. She passed on April 26, 2025, in Moreno Valley, CA.
My mother enjoyed a long life of love and laughter. She never met a stranger. She opened her heart and her home to many people throughout the years. She loved spending time with family and friends. Ada Mae enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, sewing, and traveling. She was sassy, had a great sense of humor, and could be a bit of a rascal at times. Her love for the Lord was an example amplified by her fierce advocacy to those she loved.
She leaves to cherish her memory, daughters, Shirley Haslip (Clifford), Crystal Taylor Thomas, daughter-in-laws, Diana Taylor and Celestine Taylor; Grandchildren: Gregory Taylor (Carolina), Reginald Taylor (Renae), Tiffany Simmons (Tierre), Alexa Taylor, Latasha Wright (Gwenith), Jason Thomas (Dayna), Christopher Thomas (Nikole) and Lindsay Thomas.
Great grandchildren: Blaine Bryce, Blake, Maiya, Morgan, Kyndall, Kyra, Kamryn, Zacharie, Ethen, Baby Z, Shuleia, Rosie, Ginuwine, Gwenith, Christian, Ezekiel, Asher, Chara Ada Mae, Khyler, Zaiah, Jaylah, La Marcus, Jehred, Caden and Zuri. Great-great grandchildren: Zachary and Dezy Taylor. She will also be missed by a host of family and friends.
I would like to thank the wonderful caregivers who lovingly took care of her, Kathy Fleming-Myrie, Demi (Ademilayo) Ridley, Nina Wood and Nancy Melendrez. I would also like to thank the staff at Riverside Home Senior Living, Socrates and Stephanie, who cared for her at the end of her life.
“I will lift up my eye to the hills– From whence comes my help? My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. LORD is your keeper: The LORD is your shade at your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, Nor the moon by night. The LORD shall preserve your soul. The LORD shall preserve your going out and your coming in From this time forth, and even forevermore.”
Psalms 121:1-8 NKJV
I would like to add a heartfelt thank you to my
