July 19, 1970 – January 9, 2025
Andrea Kristen Brown was born on July 19, 1970, in Nogales, Arizona, to Dempsey Brown and Marina Luz Garza-Shelton. She was the loving sister of Jason Anthony Brown and Alexis Nicole Montanez-Negrete. From a young age, Andrea demonstrated an unwavering love for her family and animals. She had a heart full of compassion and would do anything to help others, even if it meant leaving herself with nothing. Whether it was for a family member, a friend, or an animal in need, Andrea’s generosity knew no bounds, and her kind, selfless nature touched the lives of all who knew her.
Andrea was a true, kind, and loving friend, always ready to offer a helping hand, a listening ear, or a warm hug. She formed deep, meaningful connections with everyone she met, and her loyalty and support made her an irreplaceable presence in the lives of her friends and family.
Years later, Andrea married Joseph Nevarez, and together, they welcomed two beautiful children, Nicolette Anne and Joshua Anthony Brown. They were the joy of her life, and Andrea embraced motherhood with a love and nurturing spirit that came naturally to her. She was a dedicated and caring mother, always there to provide guidance, love, and comfort to her children. Her tender care and devotion as a mother will be deeply missed, as her love for her children was boundless and unwavering.
Andrea’s spirit and love will always live on in the hearts of her family: her children, Nicolette and Joshua; her mother and step-father; Marina Luz and William "Memo" "Dad" Shelton; her beloved siblings, Jason and Alexis; her father; Dempsey, and her extended family, including her stepsisters Becky Brown and Brittany Brown, her stepmother Cecilia Brown, and her stepsisters Barbara Smith and Elizabeth Shelton. Her love for each of them was deep and immeasurable, and the bond they shared will never be forgotten.
Andrea’s contagious laughter, generosity, and caring ways will always be remembered. To honor her memory, we will be holding two memorial services—one in California and another in Arizona. These services will include a church service and a celebration of life, where we will gather to remember the beautiful soul she was.
Andrea was also a passionate Los Angeles Dodgers fan, and she found immense joy in watching their games. She especially cherished this last World Series, and we are so glad she was able to enjoy that moment. In honor of Andrea’s love for the Dodgers, we ask that guests please attend the memorial services in Dodgers attire as a tribute to her.
We are deeply grateful for the love and support of our family, friends, and community during this difficult time. Your kindness, prayers, and support provide us with comfort as we honor Andrea’s life and legacy.
"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
– Psalm 34:18
Rest in peace, dear Andrea. Your spirit, love, and caring heart will forever live on in our hearts.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Christopher Parish in Moreno Valley, California. Family and friends are welcome to gather at the Green Onion after conclusion of the Reception at Miller Jones Mortuary, in Moreno Valley.
