Carleen Jerrel

Carleen Jerrel, age 81, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2024. Born in Fall River, Massachusetts, she was a cherished daughter to the late Elsie Jean and Charles H. Hodgson.

Carleen was a devoted Christian who found joy in simple pleasures. She loved the beach, where she felt a deep sense of peace, and enjoyed spending time coloring and reading. Known for her warm and friendly nature, she treasured her time visiting with her friends and neighbors, creating lasting bonds in her community.

A retired Math and Science teacher, Carleen was dedicated to helping her students thrive and left a lasting impact on many young lives.

She is survived by her three daughters, Laura Garner, Sandra Byer, and Jenifer McKee. She was grandmother to seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, who, despite the miles between them, were always close to her heart.

Carleen was predeceased by her husband, Charles W. Jerrel, a Navy man with whom she shared a life of love and loyalty. She also leaves behind her loyal dog, Winston, who was her faithful companion and brought her great joy.

May her gentle soul rest in peace, surrounded by the love of those who went before her and remembered fondly by those who remain.

A Visitation for Carleen will be held Thursday, November 14, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00PM at Miller-Jones Mortuary and Crematory, 23618 Sunnymead Blvd, Moreno Valley, CA 92553. A Memorial Service will occur Friday, November 22, 2024 from 11:00AM to 12:00PM, 23618 Sunnymead Blvd, Moreno Valley, CA 92553 followed by a Graveside Service at 12:45PM at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Boulevard, Riverside, CA 92518.
