Carrie has been my neighbor for over 20 years, she has been kind, caring and considerate. I will truly miss her. My deepest condolences to her family  and loving husband Leroy, in their time of lost. .

I really admired and respected Carrie, a beloved colleague and friend. I always knew I could count on her. We took several trips around the country together for meetings and she was always a fun companion. She was such a rock, it was very surprising to hear when she had passed.

I was very saddened to receive the news of Mrs. Thompson’s passing. She was great source of strength and wisdom to all who had the privilege to know her. Her quiet dignity was a thing of great beauty.. I could always sense the presence of the Holy Spirit right upon entering her home which revealed to me so much of what was unspoken and present in her and within her beautiful family.  A part of the main and her loss will always be felt. I rest assured in the belief that there were many loving souls awaiting her arrival from this world to the next and that her burden was lifted from her. You will be missed Mrs. Thompson!

My name is Nelly Tol. We moved next door about 22 years ago. Having the Thompsons as our neighbors has been one of the greatest blessings in my family’s life. Carrie helped me through some of the hardest times I have ever faced, always offering a helping hand during both our darkest and our happiest moments as a family.

Her passing to the next world leaves us heartbroken, yet grateful, knowing we were blessed to have known such a beautiful soul.

She was such a beautiful and kind person.  We enjoyed having her as a part of the Thompson family. I met Mr. and Mrs. Thompson when we moved in 22 years ago. For all those years, they have been the most constant, steady presence in my life. Every morning I would wake up early, look over the fence, and see her in the garden, bright and early. She was the grandmother I wish I had, and I was so blessed to have met her. I loved going over to hear her sweet, gentle voice—it always brought me peace.

Her passing has left a feeling in my heart I never imagined I would know. I suppose this is what it means to lose someone so deeply loved. One day, I hope to see you again, Mrs. Thompson—to hug you and hear that soft voice that brought so much comfort to my life. Loved you dearly, today and always.

I am Helen Howard. I met Carrie in 1966 on Greely Street. We were both in our early twenties. I was pregnant with my first child. My husband was in the Navy at that time. When the baby was born she was like a mother hen helping me with my little Stephanie. My allotment check was late therefore I needed milk for my baby. My baby was approximately 13 months old and cried all night for milk. I called my friend Carrie even though it was storming outside. It was 10:pm at night when I called her. She said, "girlfriend I only have 10 dollars but I will walk over and give you 5 dollars. " It was raining hard and the wind was blowing very hard, My friend walk to my house in the  rain, pitch dark and brought me 5 dollars to buy milk for my baby.
