

Charlotte was born at Riverside Community Hospital in Riverside, California on January 6, 1945. She was the daughter of the late Winifred and Jesse Banta. Charlotte went home to be with the Lord on July 5, 2026 in Menifee, California at the age of 81.
Charlotte, in her youth, worked on her father’s farm in Moreno Valley running the fruit stand. They grew, and sold: potatoes, watermelons, oats, hay, wheat, barley and alfalfa to name a few. Charlotte was an Elementary School Teacher in Romoland for 36 years.
Charlotte’s hobbies were telling stories, collecting dolls and loving her dog Rusty.
Throughout her life Charlotte was involved in jiu-jitsu, shooting pool, playing cribbage (which I heard she was very good at), singing in various choirs and traveling with her parents all around the world (pole to pole as her family puts it).
Charlotte was a member of many organizations such as:

Star of the Valley Order of the Eastern Star
Mission Bell Court Order of the Amaranth
Mokattam Temple
San Bernardino Social Order of The Beauceant
Santa Ana Social Order of the Beauceant
She was a 50+ year member of Eastern Star
And a Member of the Historical Society here in Moreno Valley
Charlotte was one of Moreno Valley’s longest living residents.
Charlotte was a member of Christ Community Church in Moreno Valley, California. She sang in the Sharecroppers, the country western gospel group of the Church. She participated in every Hootenanny the Church had telling the stories of her childhood and growing up in Moreno Valley.
Charlotte was preceded in death by:
her parents, Winifred and Jesse Banta
brother Gayford Banta
and her cousin Ruby Guivens
Charlotte is survived by cousins: Bernard and Ana Banta, Janet Reynolds, Janet and Allen Guivens, Melissa Hall, Heather Pressman, Michele Stevens, Caitlin Minor and James Bernard and Markus Perry.
Charlotte was very kind and generous in helping others.
Charlotte will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Christ Community Church or The Shriners organization in Charlottes name.
Visitation will be held at Miller-Jones Mortuary and Crematory, 23618 Sunnymead Blvd, Moreno Valley, CA 92553, US, on July 20, 2026, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a Funeral Service at the same location from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
A Committal Service will take place at Perris Valley Cemetery, 915 N Perris Blvd, Perris, CA 92571, US, on July 20, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
