

Elias "Lilly" Lopez Vegas, a cherished soul and devoted family matriarch, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love and faith. Born on February 9, 1935, in Oakland, California, to Saturnino and Margaret Lopez, Lilly was the beloved sister of Cruz Carvalho and Margaret Hoene, and is predeceased by her siblings Maria Alonzo, Victoria Torres, Ann Roper, and Benjamin Lopez.
Lilly's early years were marked by her athletic prowess and a passion for music, as she excelled in sports and took a keen interest in the violin. Her spiritual journey began in her youth, nurtured by her visits to church, where she found solace and inspiration in the scriptures.
In a marriage that spanned 47 years, Lilly was the devoted wife of the late Louis Vegas, who passed on March 17, 2003. Together, they raised six children: Donna Franklin (Ben), Louis Vegas, Louisa Elorreaga (Phil), Bernadette Mercado (Jose), Bernadine Reams (Rob), and Patricia Morgan (Danny). Lilly faced the profound loss of her children Louis Vegas, Donna Franklin, and Bernadine Reams.
A loving grandmother, Lilly's legacy continues through her grandchildren, including Amber Morones (Steve), Nick Martinez, Tommy Franklin, Alysia Villasenor (Fernando), Garrett Haskell (Faye), Jon Vegas, Brett Haskell (Mike), Matthew Mesa, Anthony Horner (Brenda), and Breanna Horner (Zack), her step-grandchildren, such as John Reams (Diane), Adam Reams (Loni), Tom Reams (Marilyn), Joey Mercado, Melissa Mercado, Jessica Morgan, and Faith Morgan . Her joy extended to her great-grandchildren: Julian Jacinto, Marissa Morones, Alessandra Morones, Garrett Haskell, Leah Haskell, Bella Martinez, Zack Vegas, Sophia Reams, Ella Reams, Marilyn Reams, Ace Reams, Noah Reams, and Cannon Reams, Zion Reams, and three great-great-grandchildren Mezzi Jacinto, Max Vegas and Leo Vegas who will carry forward her spirit and values.
Lilly was a devoted member of Life Community Church in Paso Robles, California, where her faith and kindness touched many lives. Her beautiful soul and unwavering heart for her Savior will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Lilly's memory will forever be cherished by her family and friends.
