

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing ofJanepher Cherity Kaskai Njopera (née Mazaiwana), who departed this life on September 22, 2025, at the age of 71.
Born on June 15, 1954, in Zimbabwe, Janepher’s life was one marked by faith, compassion, and service to others. She began her journey in Zimbabwe, later living in London, England, before ultimately making the United States her home.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Janepher is survived by her loving husband, Shingirai Njopera ; her children, Itayi Terence Makurira and Millicent Shungu Rose; Stepdaughters Fungayi Abigail Rudo Njopera-Pedler, Maureen Simangile Ditlhakeng, and her cherished grandchildren, Destiny Taurai Mena Mazaiwana, London Jonathan Nyasha Rose, Selah Kaskai Gwendell Rose, and Leightlee Sariyah Shamiso Rose. She is also survived by her beloved siblings, along with many nieces and nephews to whom she extended her motherly love and care.
She is preceded in death by her parents, (Ngosana) Mabel and Wilson Mazaiwana, and her youngest brother, MacDonald Mazaiwana, and youngest grandson Leighton Bellamy Simbarashe Rose.
For more than 40 years, Janepher dedicated her career to nursing, a profession that reflected her deep commitment to caring for others. She was also a faithful member of her church community, where her generosity of spirit, wisdom, and readiness to serve touched countless lives.
Janepher’s passions included gardening, listening with compassion, and being a pillar of encouragement and affirmation for those around her. She will be remembered for her radiant smile, her unwavering kindness, and her gift of seeing and bringing out the best in others. Truly, she was a light in every room she entered.
A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. at United Methodist Church, 10271 Heacock Street, Moreno Valley, California 92557. For those unable to attend in person, the service will be live streamed so that friends and family near and far may gather in love and remembrance.
Janepher’s legacy of compassion, strength, and faith will continue to live on in the lives of all who were blessed to know her.
