John is survived by his loving family. John had his children, Paul and Staci. He is also survived by his twelve grandchildren, Shelby, Elane, Sydney, Evan, Landon, Aiden, Lincoln, Cohen, Russell, Dean, Reid, and his great grandchild Ezekiel. John was born in Riverside CA on March 30, 1950. John would tell stories of growing up in the Navel Orange capital of the US. John grew up surrounded by orange groves and as a boy he even ate so many oranges in one day that he had citric acid draining from his ears. John was always a happy-go-lucky guy with a great sense of humor. He was accepting of all people and he was always willing to help a friend in need. John lived out his last years in his home with his daughter Staci, her husband Nolan and his three grandchildren Russell, Dean, and Reid. John loved nothing more than his morning coffee and waiting for one of the boys to wake up so they could hang out. He loved being with family, watching the Dodgers, watching his grandkids play baseball, and a home cooked meal. In his older age, and as he needed to use a walker, john would walk the long incline to the ballfields to make sure he was there to watch and support “his boys”. John loved music and in his day was a great singer. John fought in the Airforce in Vietnam and was part of the medi-vac team. He was a great conversationalist and listener. John was also great at being at an event and letting you know when he was ready to go. John was loved unconditionally and will be missed deeply.
Johns funeral will be held at the grave site at Riverside National Cemetery on January 4th where he will be buried with his Father George Russell Cartmill and his brother George Ronald Cartmill.
